Color Guidelines

The following guidelines are for use when registering your Havanese through the American Kennel Club. I have arranged this section on coat color a little differently in an attempt to make the process a little more “user friendly”.

You may select only one “color” and one “pattern” for each dog.

Because AKC limits the parent clubs to the number of colors and patterns available, you will find some pattern choices in the color section. For example Black & Tan: This allows Black & Tan to be combined with a selection from the pattern slate to create a Black & Tan Parti. (Which formerly would have been known as a Tri.)
